A holiday funded by capitalism. A day based on love where many of us only feel more alone than ever. Maybe you are a romantic, and this holiday is your sh*t, getting your inbox and mailbox flooded with "I love you" texts, flowers, and chocolates. Or maybe, you are taking a more Legally Blonde, Elle Woods approach. If this is the case, you probably bought all of the drug store chocolates that are on sale; you now find yourself sitting on your couch or in your bed eating them, and throwing them at the Rom-Com that you turned on today while yelling "liar"! This holiday truly is for everyone.
Regardless, a holiday with the central message being love, I urge you to take some time for yourself today. Reflect on something that you love about yourself, and segment an hour or so to do something that makes you happy. Whether you are Ms. Valentine herself, or you hate this holiday, it is a good excuse to practice some self love.
Tell someone you love them today. No, not just a spouse, partner, girlfriend, or a boyfriend, but a friend or parent or grandparent or pet.
Say I love you often. So, from me to you, I love you.
with love,
Sunshine
I Love you, Happy Valentines Day
