This, my sunshines, was a quick trip. From take off to landing, I was only in Madrid for a moment. Since you are so curious, I will tell you what prompted this quick trip. It was to see the Brazil v. Spain soccer game, of course. Let me tell you, while definitely a short trip, that game was easily one of the coolest experiences in my entire life, and I bet you can't help but wonder, why?
Let me set the scene for you. First, Rafa and I land and check into the hotel. We spend the day meandering around Madrid. Thanks to my roomie from California, Patri, we walked to Cappuccino, and in all honesty - I had the best cappuccino since I have been abroad.
Then we grabbed some tacos, thanks to the lovely recommendation from my dear friend Karla, at Takos al Pastor. Let me tell you, those were quite literally some of the best tacos I have ever had, I cannot recommend making your way over there enough.
The game itself was surreal. Rafa and I were sitting right at center field, row 8. It was incredible. We got there early enough to see the players warm up, and the walk out before the game was so powerful.
The game was electric, down til the last second. Brazil kicked a PK and tied Spain with a second left in the game. For lack of better words, it was CRAZY! Easily one of the coolest moments in my life, so far.
The day afterwards, we just walked around and explored Madrid, with the game still at the top of our minds, fueled by cappuccinos, of course!
Have a great rest of your day.
xx,
sunshine
